Flavio Marzo

Head of Conservation at the Cambridge Conservation Consortium Studio

Biography

Flavio was born in Susa near Turin (Italy). He now lives in Cambridge where he is the Head of Conservation at the Cambridge Conservation Consortium Studio (Corpus Christi College). Previously, he has worked for the British library since 2005, and became an ICON accredited conservator in 2012. During his career, he has worked in prominent institutions such as the Vatican Library, the libraries of Queens and Magdalene Colleges, Oxford, and as a private conservator/restorer in the Benedictine Monastery of Novalesa, Italy. He set up the conservation studio for the British Library/Qatar Foundation Partnership Digitisation Project. He has also been involved in several conservation projects in Italy , Greece, and Egypt as conservator, consultant and teacher. He is presently part of the boards of the ‘The Society for the Preservation of Rare Books’, and on the panel of the ‘Frederick Bearman Research Grant’. He the author of several articles published in journals, books, and on the web.
