Recanati e Restauro is proud to present “Di Terra & Di Nebbia”, a solo exhibition by the Marche-based artist Jacopo Pannocchia, which will be hosted at the Villa Colloredo Mels Civic Museum from March 16th to May 25th, 2025. This collaboration with the artist marks a new chapter in a project dedicated to supporting and promoting local creative talent, enriching our community with high-quality cultural events. As always, we are thrilled to be part of an initiative that encourages reflection and artistic exploration, offering visitors a unique experience.

The exhibition, curated by Mario Finazzi and Luigi Petruzzellis, showcases a selection of works that explore the artist’s research and poetic vision, focused on the element of earth, which is expressed through various forms and techniques.

The exhibition features fifteen ceramic sculptures made from various types of clay – ranging from dark anthracite earth to red clay rich in iron oxide. In addition, there are thirteen wooden panels prepared using the technique of priming, enriched with clay pastes, pigments, oxides, and graphite. The element of earth also takes center stage in the drawings on nineteenth-century paper, likely sourced from the archives of religious congregations, depicting armors made of earth and graphite, with ink interventions. The exhibition is completed by a series of graphic works, including woodcuts, etchings, and drawings.

Jacopo Pannocchia stands out for his exploration across a variety of mediums, while maintaining a stylistic coherence that fosters a continuous dialogue between the formal and the informal. His works express a tension between the unconscious, symbolized by the fog, and the tangible reality. The earth, in its multitude of textures and shades, is the beating heart of his production, not only in the sculptures but also in the inks, created from a blend of clay, graphite, pigments, and water.

In his statement, Mario Finazzi, curator of the exhibition, describes “fog” as a primordial state, “the undefined, the ever-changing,” that condenses into an image. The exhibition invites the viewer to reflect on the boundary between matter and thought, between chaos and order, stimulating a visual and emotional experience that resonates with the deepest chords of the human imagination.

An unmissable event for lovers of contemporary art, drawing, and sculpture, offering the chance to immerse themselves in a universe of shapes and meanings expressed through the power of earth and the intensity of fog.
