Biography
Valeria Di Capizzi is an Italian Book and Paper Conservator. After her studies in Conservation and Restoration of Book and Paper at Palazzo Spinelli Institute for Art and Restoration, in Florence, she started to work as a freelance conservator around Italy. Specialized in restoration of manuscripts, books and artworks on paper, in 2012 she started her collaboration with Relic - Restauro Libri e Conservazione and she worked for public and private institutions, archives and libraries. She conducted workshops “Introduction to the history of the manufacture of paper and membranous material, with particular reference to the degradation factors of ancient documents and the technical procedures of prevention, conservation and restoration of archives and libraries” at the Diocesan Historical Archive of Trapani, in Sicily. In 2019, she has taken part like Conservator to the Egypt Campaign for Deir-Al-Surian Project, organized by The Levantine Foundation in Wadi el-Natrun, Il Cairo. She participated as conservator in the fourth Training program in Museology and paper conservation “Safeguarding Egyptian Cultural Heritage through Preservation, Conservation and Digitisation” organized by The Levantine Foundation in partnership with The Ministry of Tourism and and The Egypt Exploration Society, The British Council and Recanati e Restauro. She is an associate of Recanati e Restauro.
